In honor of this most prestigious battle and the most awesome weapons to be utilized, this year's theme will center on siege weapons and archery. May the Missiles speed high through the air for this War of the Wings!

Contests:

Medieval Encampment. You've been working diligently to make life more medieval, so show it off! Please keep in mind that the judges will be more likely to find your camp if you are in it. Documentation (oral or printed) is preferred but not mandatory. The best encampment will earn a war point.

Scroll Blank. Scribble and scribe your way to a war point! If an entry is either illuminated or caligraphed but not both, it will count as 1/2 scroll. Entries with both illumination and calligraphy count as one scroll. All scrolls are donated to the Crown or Coronets as appropriate to scroll text. The side (Sacred Stone or Black Diamond) with the most submissions wins the war point.

Best use of Pink. A continued tradition in the spirit of promoting breast cancer awareness and research through the Susan G. Komen Foundation, a contest featuring the Best Use of Pink in any medium will be sponsored by Lady Caterine St. Loe.

Medieval disguise for a modern item. Have you made something nifty to cleverly disguise blatantly modern stuff? A cover or chest for you cooler, or something to hide that nylon earth pimple that you sleep in? If your item is large or otherwise difficult to move, please list your camp on the schedule for the Medieval Encampment competition and your item will be viewed in your camp. Again, documentation (oral or printed) is preferred but not mandatory. Conjecturally medieval items are welcome as well.

Item constructed on site. Succumb to ingenuity! Any medieval (or conjecturally medieval) item made on site, from items found on site. Again, documentation (oral or printed) is preferred but not mandatory.

Archery: What better way to celebrate the theme of Wings than a flight into the Arts & Sciences of Archery! The Honorable Lady Lorelei will sponsor a themed A&S contest for all things archery. Is it your period archer’s kit you’ve worked hard on and are proud of? The arrows or bow you’ve made? Quivers, bracers, gloves, hats and even archery related Illumination is appropriate for entry. Prizes will be given for adults and youth in the categories of: Best First Effort, OMG that’s amazing and Wow that was a lot of work.

Performing Arts: Sing a song, pluck a tune or entertain to your heart's content! One point will be awarded for Performing Arts, sponsored by Lady Rosanella Vespucci. Please click here for more information.
